Abstract
Description
Parts of the city of Fairbanks, Alaska are heated with underground steam and hot water heating systems. Integral to these systems are steam vents, which are dotted around the downtown area. Many of these have been painted by local artists, sponsored by local businesses and organizations. This one is painted with an image of lingonberries and is titled 'Lingonberry Love". The vent is about 6 ft. tall and is painted light blue at the top, green in the middle and light yellow at the bottom. Over these background colours, the artist and painted red lingonberries on trailing vines, with leaves of several shades of green trailing up the length of the vent. The painting is sponsored by the Tanana Valley State Fair.
