View of Beechey Island, Nunavut, from Erebus Bay. The remains of Northumberland House are located at the foot of the cliffs to the left : built 1852-1853 by the Belcher rescue expedition as a supply depot for the Franklin expedition in case they came to Beechey Island. Photographed August 2000
