This project will examine the role of a mentor as a leader in the teaching profession. The realities of mentoring will be explored to better understand the unique context of mentors as leaders in schools. The qualities of educational leaders and mentors will be aligned and the most efficient strategies for mentors as leaders will be presented. The impact of mentors as leaders for teachers, schools, and school boards will be brought to light, particularly for the education system in Alberta. The goal of this project is to encourage further implementation of mentoring programs in schools that support both beginning teachers and mentors as leaders for the success of students, teachers, and the school community.
