Abstract

Description

A Legacy of Commitment to Community serves as an addendum to Wealth of Voices, the book written by Marsha Mildon and published in 1990 to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the Edmonton Social Planning Council (ESPC). This historical overview is based on research from the ESPC archives, a collection of Council publications housed at the ESPC. It documents the Council’s changing face over the last two decades; its continued work on key issues such poverty, welfare advocacy, and social health; and its involvement in community organizations ranging from Success by 6 to the Edmonton Centre for Equal Justice.
