Abstract

Description

This project is a collaborative venture between four stakeholder groups in the physical therapy profession. Representatives from education, regulation, practice and a payer organization came together to develop a resource guide intended to support physical therapists in the treatment of injured workers. During the development of the guide it became apparent that this model of disability management has broad application to all injured workers, regardless of the funding system. However it is written with a focus on return to work as a primary goal of rehabilitation. The project partners believe this guide contains physical therapy best practices as we know them today, with the understanding that such documents are always a work in progress. This guide and supporting appendix will be updated and refined over time.
