Abstract
Description
This graphic score is an oil on canvas painting (47.5 " X 30") with accompanying performance instructions. The work was premiered by XiMe at Convocation Hall, University of Alberta, on December 8, 2014. The image is a sinuous red line in the centre of the painting, that follows a narrowing path from bottom to top, on a background representing Ocean, Field, and Sky. For XiMe's performance, the painting was placed on a stand, centre stage, with the players seated, backs to the audience around the front of the stage. A timepiece was also visible to the players.
