Business Drivers: MPLS (Multi-Protocol Label Switching) has been embraced in the network industries for more than a decade now and it has slowly become a standard part of the communication networks. There is perhaps innumerable number of reasons why MPLS has gained success over other
technology, among which one clearly stands out; its ability to simplify integration with other protocols. It’s coaction with IP which is universally deployed already and its versatility has definitely proven to be another reason. (As cited in chapter 1.)
