Description
Course notes including detailed instructions for the short course on river ice modelling that was held as part of the Committee on River Ice Processes and Environment's Workshop on the Hydraulics of Ice-Covered Rivers on Canmore in July 2023. Topics covered include a brief introduction to river ice processes, introduction to the Peace River case study, HEC-RAS modeling of simple ice covers, HEC-RAS modelling of ice jams, model geometry modifications, ice cover formation and progression modelling with River1D. Also included in the Appendix is a summary of several river ice models available. 274 pages.
